The Philippine Rubber Research Institute (PRRI) convened a recent meeting to discuss a range of vital programs and projects aimed at advancing the rubber industry. Key topics included the production of superior quality planting materials in Aroman, the extension and technical services provided to local farmers, and ongoing research initiatives that drive innovation in rubber cultivation.

A significant focus of the meeting was the ongoing profiling in Cotabato Province, which plays a crucial role in determining the exact interventions needed to support local rubber producers. The data collected from this profiling is essential for tailoring strategies that address the unique challenges faced by farmers in the region.

Director Cheryl Lazaga Eusala commended the efforts of the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 12 (DA-RFO12) for their collaboration in these initiatives. She emphasized the importance of partnerships in enhancing the effectiveness of PRRI’s programs. Director Eusala also extended an invitation to all stakeholders to participate in the upcoming R12 stakeholder meeting, which PRRI is organizing in preparation for the 2026 Budget Proposal. This meeting will serve as a platform to align efforts and resources for the continued growth of the rubber industry.

Cotabato Province’s recognition as the highest rubber-producing area in the country underscores the significance of these initiatives. By enhancing production capabilities and providing targeted support, PRRI aims to empower local farmers, boost the rubber industry, and contribute to economic stability in the region.
