In a proactive move aimed at advancing the interests of the Philippine Rubber Research Institute (PRRI), Executive Director, Dr. Cheryl Lazaga Eusala convened a courtesy meeting with Atty. John Alvin Balagbag, Chief of Staff of the Department of Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr.
During the meeting, Director Eusala presented pressing issues faced by PRRI and sought valuable recommendations from Atty. Balagbag on strategies to address them effectively.
Director Eusala also shared PRRI’s ambitious plans for 2024 and beyond. These plans include initiatives aimed at propelling the development of the rubber industry through enhanced production support services which is visualized through its target of 100,000 pcs of superior quality rubber planting materials to be distributed to farmers. Further, the bureau is also strengthening its R4D program aimed to promote sustainability, and maximize the institute’s contribution to national economic growth, in alignment with PRRI’s role as the staff bureau of the Department of Agriculture.
The courtesy meeting underscored the commitment of both PRRI and the Department of Agriculture to work hand in hand towards the advancement of the rubber industry in the Philippines. Executive Director Eusala expressed her gratitude to Atty. Balagbag for his valuable insights and affirmed PRRI’s dedication to fulfilling its mandate of driving innovation and development in the rubber sector.
