The 3rd training of CY2021 on Capacity Development Program for Rubber Farmers’ Associations and Cooperatives has been fruitfully conducted to the Kidapawan City Rubber Farmers’ Associations (KCRuFa) on April 21-23, 2021 at Hof Mansion Inn, Kidapawan City, North Cotabato.
 
Kidapawan City Agriculturist Marissa Aton gave her welcome remarks to the participants of the activity and to the facilitators from Philippine Rubber Research Institute (PRRI). On behalf of PRRI Acting Executive Director, Engr. Dennis H. Palabrica, Training Specialist III, Dr. Girlie R. Saludo, extended the warmth message from the Director to encourage the rubber farmers to face the challenges in the rubber industry and inspire them to produce quality rubber products and apply an integrated farming system for a higher income.
 
It is a three-day training activity that aims to increase the knowledge of our rubber farmers by educating them on Rubber Plantation Management, Rubber Budwood Nursery Establishment, Rubber Insect Pests and Diseases Control and Management, Latex Harvesting, Intercropping, Natural Rubber Processing and Physiological Characteristics of Rubber.
 
To help enhance the managerial skills of KCRuFa officers/members and improve the system within the organization, participants have also been imparted with learnings on Organizational Concept, People Management, Learning Process, Kooperasyon (Cooperation), Kaunlaran (Development), and Agri-Entrepreneur.
 
One of the participants, Mr. Edgardo Quicoy, deliver his impression during the closing program, stating that at first, he was hesitant to attend the said activity since he managed to maintain his rubber farm for so many years without getting seminars, hence, his experiences made him more knowledgeable but in contrast to what he thought, he had gained more knowledge on Rubber Good Agricultural Practices and Organizational Management as this is the first and only training on rubber production that he received.
