GINGOOG, MISAMIS ORIENTAL || Ms. Ma. Nita Roldan, Science Research Analyst (PRRI) And Mr. Glenn Corpuz, Project Assistant II of Crop Management Division (CMD) of the Philippine Rubber Research Institute (PRRI) along with a team of agricultural experts, Mr. John Helbert Galili, Agriculturist I (City Agriculture Office of Gingoog) Mr. Rolly Arconada, Agricultural Technician (City Agriculture Office of Gingoog) Mr. Bruce Condeza, Farm Foreman (City Agriculture Office of Gingoog) conducted validation of the list of rubber farmers, assessed the severity of pests and diseases affecting rubber plantations, particularly Pestalotiopsis Leaf Fall Disease (PLFD), coordinated the distribution of agricultural inputs, and facilitated drone operations to capture aerial footage of the rubber plantations last September 11-13, 2024..
PRRI has received strong support from local agricultural leaders, including Miriam A. De La Plaza, City Agriculturist, and Gladys Mae Conception, Rubber Focal Person, in conducting these significant activities in Gingoog. The involvement of these leaders reflects the community’s dedication to enhancing the productivity and sustainability of rubber farming in the region. This collaboration represents a proactive step forward in addressing the challenges faced by rubber farmers in Gingoog City, reinforcing the commitment of both local authorities and agricultural experts to strengthen the rubber industry – towards a GOMA-gaang buhay!
