The Department of Agriculture – Philippine Rubber Research Institute (DA-PRRI) and the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) recently held a meeting to discuss and reinforce their partnership towards the advancement of the rubber industry in the country on April 18, 2023. The courtesy visit was led by DA-PRRI’s Executive Director, Dr. Cheryl Lazaga Eusala and DOST-PCAARRD’s Executive Director, Dr. Reynaldo V. Ebora.
During the meeting, Dr. Ebora extended his congratulations to Dr. Eusala on her new appointment as Executive Director of DA-PRRI. Director Eusala also presented the vision, new policy directives, and areas of collaboration for PRRI. In response, Director Ebora expressed his continued support for the new leadership and management of PRRI.
Dr. Ebora further emphasized the importance of prioritizing PRRI’s scholarship grant program and enhancing its research capabilities. DOST-PCAARRD offers the Graduate Research and Education Assistanceship for Technology (GREAT) Program, which provides qualified graduate students with financial and technical assistance to become key players in producing quality research addressing the country’s priority concerns in agriculture, aquatics, and natural resources (AANR).
Dr. Eusala expressed her belief that the collaboration with DOST-PCAARRD will contribute significantly to PRRI’s research capabilities and further advance the Philippine rubber industry. This joint effort aligns with PRRI’s mission to promote research, development, and commercialization of rubber products and technologies in the country.
The meeting highlights the commitment of both organizations in strengthening their partnership and working towards the shared goal of sustainable development in the agricultural sector. By leveraging their respective expertise and resources, DA-PRRI and DOST-PCAARRD aim to foster innovation, increase productivity, and ensure the long-term growth and success of the rubber industry in the Philippines.
PRRI would like to express its heartfelt gratitude for the generous donation of one unit of Toyota Revo. This donation will greatly benefit our projects and activities by providing reliable transportation for our researchers and staff to conduct fieldwork and other related tasks. It will also help us in delivering our services to the farmers and stakeholders of the Philippine rubber industry, especially in remote areas. With this donation, we can maximize our efforts in advancing the rubber industry and contribute to the country’s agricultural development. Once again, we extend our sincerest thanks to the donor for their invaluable support.
