Executive Director Eusala of the Philippine Rubber Research Institute (PRRI) recently participated in the Rubber Industry Stakeholders’ Forum of Agusan del Sur last October 20, 2023. During the forum, Director Eusala had the chance to address the rubber farmers of Agusan and inform them of PRRI’s plans and programs for the industry including its production support services which aims to deliver quality rubber planting materials to the farmers. She emphasized that PRRI’s programs are farmer-centered, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed effectively.
She also expressed PRRI’s desire to put up a satellite office in Agusan to facilitate easier access for local farmers in the province to PRRI’s resources and interventions, thus strengthening the partnership between PRRI and Agusan’s rubber industry.
Director Eusala also had the chance to brief Municipal Agriculturists and the Provincial Agriculturist of Agusan del Sur, Mr.Armando Valiente, on the PRRI Control and Mitigation Measures against Pestalotiopsis Leaf Fall Disease which has currently affected around 800 hectares of rubber plantations in Region XIII. They expressed their commitment to help PRRI in this endeavor.
Also present in the forum were Mr. Jack Sandique (PRRI Technical Adviser), Mr. Cristopher Ocite (Vice-Chairman, RIDBADS), DA-CARAGA, and various rubber stakeholders. This forum was organized by the Provincial Agriculture Office of Agusan del Sur.
