The Philippine Rubber Research Institute (PRRI) had made a kick-off celebration of the 2024 National Women’s Month. The theme for this year’s celebration was “GOMAre tungo sa Bagong Pilipinas: Pagpupugay sa kakayahan ng mga manggagawang kababaihan sa Gomahan”. Dr. Jill Villanueva, Officer-in-Charge, Crop Management Division, PRRI, opened the event by emphasizing the importance of women in our society. She highlighted their remarkable abilities and contributions to our nation.

Engr. Evangeline P. Garcia then explained the purpose behind the 2024 National Women’s Month theme. As a part of the program, Mr. Junmar C. Gonzales, Population Program Officer II, was invited to discuss gender sensitivity and women empowerment. During his discussion, Mr. Gonzales stressed the significance of women in our society. He emphasized the need for gender sensitivity and ensuring that women have equal opportunities to succeed and make a difference.

The event aimed to raise awareness about women’s rights and highlight their crucial role in the Bagong Pilipinas. The PRRI seeks to inspire a more inclusive and equitable society. The kick-off celebration of 2024 National Women’s Month concluded with a recognition ceremony, where exceptional women of PRRI women rubber nursery workers were honored for their outstanding contributions. This served as a reminder that acknowledging and celebrating women’s achievements is vital to shaping a brighter future for all.

In line with the theme “GOMAre tungo sa Bagong Pilipinas: Pagpupugay sa kakayahan ng mga manggagawang kababaihan sa Gomahan”. The PRRI’s celebration of 2024 National Women’s Month not only highlighted the capabilities of women but also emphasized the importance of gender equality and women’s empowerment in our journey towards a Bagong Pilipinas.
