KABASALAN, Zamboanga Sibugay — The Philippine Rubber Research Institute (PRRI) facilitated a successful Capacity Development in Improved Technology on Rubber Tapping Management for the Pantawid Beneficiaries. The program, held from October 15-18 and October 22-25, 2024, trained 310 rubber farmers from eight different barangays of the municipality of Kabasalan. Training sessions took place in Peňaranda, Tigbangagan, Little Baguio, Sayao, and Gacbusan. PRRI facilitators, Ms Claire Nova O. Abdulatip, Nerio T. Alap-Ap, and Mark Zosem D. Suello engaged participants in discussions focused on effective tapping management techniques and the maintenance of rubber plantations.
All in all, the program was highly successful, with participants gaining valuable insights and knowledge that are expected to enhance productivity and sustainability in their localities. PRRI remains committed to envisioning a better future for rubber farming communities—towards a GOMAgaang Buhay!
