The 2024 International Rubber Conference (IRC) commenced today in Pattaya City, Thailand, marking a significant collaboration between the Rubber Authority of Thailand (RAOT) and the International Rubber Research and Development Board (IRRDB). The conference, themed “Inspiring Natural Rubber Innovation to Secure a Sustainable Future,” in attendance, 19 member countries participated in the said event, including a notable representation from the Philippine Rubber Research Institute (PRRI).
PRRI Executive Director, Dr. Cheryl Lazaga Eusala, together with her colleagues: Dr. Jill D. Villanueva, Training Specialist III, Mr. Jess Bryan M. Alvarino, Senior Science Research Specialist, Mr. Jose Remollo III, Science Research Specialist, and Ms. Melanie L. Santos, Planning Officer II were the official delegates on the said event.
This collaborative effort between the RAOT and IRRDB, stands as a pivotal event poised to address critical issues facing the global rubber industry. With a diverse range of presentations, panel discussions, and workshops, participants will delve into key topics such as Crop harvest, Socio-economic, Crop improvement and Plant Protection.
As the conference continues, attendees are primed to engage in meaningful dialogue, forge new collaborations, and propose actionable solutions to shared challenges. PRRI’s active involvement underscores their commitment to driving positive change and advancing the industry’s collective knowledge base on a global scale.
