GINGOOG CITY || Mr. Ariel Vilar, Senior Science Research Specialist and Mr. Nerio Alap-ap, Science Research Analyst of the Philippine Rubber Research Institute – Rubber Technology and Extension Services Division (PRRI-RTESD) recently conducted a Capacity Development (CapDev) program on Tapping Management in Barangay 26, Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental with 25 rubber farmers from various barangays that attended. This program focused on enhancing tapping techniques to optimize latex yield, providing practical insights and hands-on demonstrations. The event took place last September 11-12, 2024.
Through interactive sessions and hands-on demonstrations, rubber farmers were able to learn directly from all the lecturers of the said event. The program not only equipped participants with essential techniques but also strengthened their commitment to improving their rubber farming practices. This is PRRI’s ongoing dedication to supporting the Philippine rubber industry by empowering local farmers with the necessary resources to thrive in a competitive market – patungo sa GOMA-gaang buhay!
