An emergency meeting was held on January 10, 2024, to address the outbreak of Pestalotiopsis Leaf Fall Disease (PLFD) on rubber trees in Trento, Agusan del Sur. The meeting, chaired by the Regional Technical Director for Research and Regulations, involved various stakeholders from the Philippine Rubber Research Institute (PRRI), the Bureau of Plant Industry, the Regional Crop Protection Center, the Research Division, and several local government units. The meeting aimed to provide updates on the status of PLFD in the region, to formulate plans for effective intervention and management, and to express support for the initiatives of PRRI’s Executive Director. The meeting also highlighted the importance of accurate data, coordinated response, and collaborative effort in combating the disease and protecting the rubber industry in the CARAGA region.
