The Department of Agriculture Bureau of Agricultural Research (DA-BAR) recently conducted onsite monitoring and full documentation for the project titled “Enhancing Latex Yield Rubber Recommended Clone Through Application of Stimulants towards Sustained Productivit”. This project is funded by DA-BAR and implemented by the Philippine Rubber Research Institute. The monitoring and documentation took place from June 13 to June 14, 2023.
During the monitoring activities, the project updates were thoroughly discussed among the monitoring team. The team was led by Miss Jennilyn Castaneto, representing the DA-BAR. The main objective of the monitoring was to assess the progress and implementation of the project. On June 13th, the DA-BAR team had an insightful interview with the Project Leader, Miss Elline Macay, to gather detailed updates regarding the project. The interview provided valuable insights into the advancements, challenges, and achievements of the project.
Continuing their monitoring efforts, on the morning of June 14th, the DA-BAR team visited the Sulo Agrarian Reform Multi-Purpose Cooperative (SARBEMCO) in Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay. SARBEMCO is one of the project’s cooperators, actively involved in the implementation and testing of the project interventions. The team documented the progress made at the cooperative, gathering first-hand information on the outcomes of the project.
The project, which aims to enhance latex yield in rubber through the application of stimulants for sustained productivity, is set to be completed in September 2023. It commenced in April 2022, and the onsite monitoring served as an opportunity to assess the project’s development, identify areas for improvement, and ensure the project is on track to achieve its objectives. The DA-BAR team’s onsite monitoring and documentation activities play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient utilization of resources, monitoring the project’s milestones, and documenting its impacts. The information gathered during these visits will contribute to future evaluations and decision-making processes.
