๐ฐ๐๐๐, ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐บ๐๐๐๐๐๐ || To streamline efforts and prioritize projects and programs in alignment with directives of President Marcosโ #Bagong Pilipinas, the Philippine Rubber Research Institute (PRRI) held its First Quarter Assessment and Second Quarter Target-Setting on April 26, 2024 at Jackiesโ Hotel and Restaurant. This event is aimed to evaluate PRRIโs past achievements and set goals for the coming months.
All PRRI division heads, including the Crop Management Division (CMD), Rubber Technology, and Extension Services Division (RTESD), Genetic and Resources and Improvement Development (GRID), and Administrative and Finance Division (AFD), were able to present their accomplishments from the first quarter. This assessment is necessary to gain valuable insights into the institute’s overall progress. After which, they also presented their targets for the next quarter with much preparation and hopeful anticipation.
In her opening remarks, PRRI Executive Director, Dr. Cheryl Eusala (Charming Edcle) emphasized the importance of public service. She reminded everyone that “we are all public servants, no matter what positions we hold. We have a responsibility to deliver services to the people, making them our top priority. We are accountable to upholding the principle of ‘service to the people.” Moreover, she acknowledged the presence of Dr. Mercedita Sombilla, Undersecretary for DA Bureaus, as one who will help assess PRRIโs accomplishments. Director Eusala shared that Usec. Sombilla’s participation is deemed crucial to provide valuable guidance and direction for the institute’s future endeavors.
Usec. Sombilla graced the event upon a personal request of PRRI Executive Director Cheryl Eusala, knowing how eager she is to know about the rubber industry. Dr. Sombilla actively participated in the event, asking insightful questions and offering solutions to some of the challenges identified. Through these interactions, she gained a deeper appreciation for PRRI’s work as a DA bureau and pledged her continued support in addressing future issues.
