June 5, 2024 || Bangkok, Thailand – To foster international linkages and build strong rapport and collaboration with like-minded members of rubber-producing countries worldwide, PRRI Executive Director III – Cheryl L. Eusala, Ph.D. and Dr. Girlie R. Saludo, OIC-Chief of PRRI-RTESD are our esteemed representatives in this on-going ANRPC Caucus Meeting held from June 5 to 7, 2024 at The Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Bangkok Menam Riverside in Bangkok, Thailand – in which Philippines (thru PRRI) was among the thirteen (13) rubber-producing countries who is actively participating #ATM. This particular event is deemed a significant occasion that may help introduce fair price arrangements for rubber growers around the world; therefore, this is something that we at PRRI and the Philippine natural rubber industry should take part in.

The Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC), a leading intergovernmental organization established in 1970, is spearheading this initiative. The mission is to foster sustainable growth, market leadership, and the well-being of rubber farmers by promoting fair prices for natural rubber.

The plight of rubber growers facing low prices for their product has been a long-standing concern. This week in Bangkok, representatives from 13 major rubber-producing nations are finally coming together to address this issue on a global scale. This crucial meeting presents a golden opportunity to discuss solutions and establish a framework for fair pricing within the natural rubber industry. The ultimate goal of these discussions is to create a stable and equitable marketplace where all participants benefit. This, in turn, will provide much-needed support for rubber farmers who are often trapped in a cycle of poverty. Millions of people whose livelihoods depend on rubber have the potential to experience a life-changing transformation. It is our prayer and hope that this meeting could be the catalyst for uplifting entire communities!
