The Philippine Rubber Research Institute (PRRI) has launched a significant research project aimed at understanding the complex challenges faced by rubber farming households in the Philippines. The project, titled “Multidimensional Poverty Analysis of the Rubber Farming Households in the Philippines,” is being led by Ms. Jenepher Bade and Mr. Lourence Romano.

The research involves conducting in-depth household and village surveys to gather data on various aspects of poverty, including income, education, health, and access to essential services. The study will cover five regions across the Philippines, including Region IX, Region X, Region XI, Region XII, CARAGA, and BARMM.

A total of 590 respondents will be involved in the survey, with the following distribution across regions:

  • Region IX: 125 respondents
  • Region X: 34 respondents
  • Region XI: 121 respondents
  • Region XII: 94 respondents
  • CARAGA: 57 respondents
  • BARMM: 159 respondents

The findings of this research will provide valuable insights into the multidimensional nature of poverty among rubber farming households. These insights will inform policy makers and development organizations on targeted interventions to address the specific needs and challenges of this vulnerable population.
