The CY 2024 Mid-Year Assessment and Strategic Planning Workshop for the DA Policy, Planning, Project Development, and Regulations Office under Undersecretary Asis G. Perez took place in PhilRice, Nueva Ecija, from August 28-30, 2024. The three-day assessment and strategic planning workshop aims to demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of the attached agencies and bureaus of the Department in their efforts to effectuate its mandate towards a sustainable and self-sufficient agricultural industry.
PRRI, through its Executive Director Dr. Cheryl L. Eusala, admirably presented the highlight of its mid-year accomplishment report: initiatives, strategies, and efforts. It encapsulated PRRIโ€™s means for ensuring a conducive and developing rubber industry towards the โ€œGOMA-gaang Buhay.โ€

Engr. Evangeline P. Garcia’s attendance at the 8th Annual Philippine Women Engineers and Scientists’ Summit in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, from August 22-24, 2024, was a significant milestone for PRRI. The summit’s theme, ‘Trailblazers and Changemakers: Women in Science and Engineering for a Sustainable and Inclusive World,’ resonated deeply with Engr. Garcia’s commitment to advancing her career as an Agricultural Engineer.

The Philippine Rubber Research Institute (PRRI) is analyzing the complex challenges faced by rubber farming households in the Philippines. This study is titled, โ€œMultidimensional Poverty Analysis of the Rubber Farming Households in the Philippinesโ€, which focuses on various aspects of poverty, including financial factors, education, health, employment, housing, and social inclusion.
To date, the profiling team has surveyed 590 respondents across different regions. However, there are still two major regions to be covered before the project concludes by the end of this year. The team composes the Project Leader, Ms. Jenepher Bade together with her staff Mr. Lourence Romano, Mr. Aljeff Lacaba, Mr. Norjie Posedio, Ms. Lovie Ysulan and Mr. Elvert Simbol.

Among the 90 graduates from various State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Engr. Evangeline Garcia and Ms. Xela Pingol from PRRI-RTESD, graduated from the Technology Promotion Mentorship Series (TPMS) program on August 15, 2024. The graduation ceremony was held at the Royce Hotel and Casino in Clark Freeport, Pampanga.
The TPMS program is facilitated by the Association of PAQE Professions (APP) and supported by the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD). This program equips individuals with the skills to promote technology in the agricultural sector.

PRRI Enhances Digital Literacy with Google Workspace Training

Regular and COS PRRI personnel are all ears listening to lectures by the representatives from the Department of Information and Communication Technology – Zamboanga Sibugay (DICT – ZS), tackling the significance of using Google Workspace in office settings – TODAY, August 22, 2024. This whole-day program aims to enhance the digital skills and know-how among PRRI employees and improve office online and offline work collaborations to become seamless and with less effort.
