Zamboanga City || May 16-17, 2024 – As her gesture of courtesy and as an act of support, Executive Director, Cheryl L. Eusala, Ph.D. attended the CY 2024 Second Quarter Regular Meeting of the Economic Development Committee (EDCom) of the Regional Development Council (RDC) IX hosted at the Terra Cotta Hotel along with Engr. Evangeline P. Garcia and Atty. Mae Theresa Clare Dimol.

This meeting was attended by local government officials, regional heads of departments and other offices, and representatives from non-government organizations within Region IX. In person, representatives from various government agencies such as NIA R9, PIA R9, DENR R9, CDA R9, DTI R9, PCA R9, and other regional offices were present. The other attendees presented through Zoom. Their aim for this meeting is to accelerate the economic and social development of the respective stakeholders.

Recognizing the importance of rubber to Region IX, Director Eusala, despite PRRI’s national scope, presented its significance on a regional level. She also highlighted some exciting PRRI initiatives and proudly mentioned the recent successful celebration of PRRI’s 14th Founding Anniversary, the establishment of a nursery in Aroman, and the launch of a contest titled “Ascending Arts in Rubber.” Furthermore, Dr. Eusala announced the upcoming “Search for the Biggest and Oldest Rubber Tree in the Philippines,” a program that has generated considerable anticipation.

The engagement of PRRI Executive Director Eusala in such activities exemplifies her social obligations and paying homage to partners and stakeholders towards harnessing the full potential of the region’s rubber industry. We believe that such partnerships are crucial in driving progress and prosperity, ultimately benefiting the people and economies of Region IX.
