October 4, 2024, Aroman Cotabato || In a recent gathering, Executive Director Cheryl Eusala, along with newly appointed Advisory Council Farmer Representative Mr. Lago and technical consultants Dr. Choi, Doc Nars, and Mr. Sandique, engaged in a productive meeting aimed at boosting rubber production through improved technology.

The meeting was held after a visit to the Prime Homestead Agri Ventures Inc., (PHAVI) farm, where Mr. Sandique showcased a rubber plantation that successfully employs enhanced techniques. This visit provided the team with firsthand experience of the potential benefits of adopting modern practices in rubber farming.

A key topic of discussion was the potential of multi-cropping systems utilizing a block farming design, which could significantly increase income opportunities for underprivileged farmers. The team emphasized how these methods not only optimize land use but also promote sustainability in agricultural practices.

Following the PHAVI farm visit, the group proceeded to the PRRI nursery in Aroman. Here, Executive Director Eusala personally demonstrated the entire nursery process, from bed preparation to the preparation of planting materials for distribution. This hands-on demonstration provided valuable insights into enhancing rubber farming practices, highlighting the importance of practical knowledge in the cultivation of rubber.

Through these collaborative efforts, the PRRI aims to empower local farmers, improve agricultural practices, and foster sustainable income opportunities in the rubber industry.
