The Philippine Rubber Research Institute (PRRI) is proud to celebrate the achievements of two of its staff members, Engr. Evangeline P. Garcia and Xela Patrice B. Pingol, from the Rubber Technology and Extension Services Division (RTESD). They recently graduated from the Technology Promotion Mentorship Series (TPMS) program, a comprehensive initiative designed to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively promote technology in the agricultural sector.

The TPMS graduation ceremony, held at the Royce Hotel and Casino in Clark Freeport, Pampanga on August 15, 2024, saw 90 graduates from various state universities and colleges (SUCs) and agencies across the Philippines. The program, facilitated by the Association of PAQE Professions (APP) and supported by the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD), covered five comprehensive modules, equipping graduates with the skills to identify and assess technology needs, develop and implement effective technology promotion strategies, and evaluate the impact of their efforts.

Engr. Garcia and Ms. Pingol’s participation in the TPMS program reflects PRRI’s commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship within the rubber industry. The knowledge gained through the TPMS program will undoubtedly empower these graduates to contribute significantly to the advancement of the rubber industry, promoting sustainable practices and contributing to the country’s overall economic prosperity.

Following the TPMS graduation, Engr. Garcia and Ms. Pingol also attended the National Agri-Aqua Innovation Pitch Fest, held on August 16th at the same location. This event, organized by DOST-PCAARRD, provided a platform for innovators and entrepreneurs in the agriculture and aquaculture sectors to showcase their groundbreaking ideas and technologies. The pitch fest aimed to attract investors and partners to support the development and commercialization of these innovative solutions, ultimately contributing to the growth and sustainability of the Philippine agri-aqua sector.

The event featured a diverse range of pitches, covering areas such as sustainable farming practices, innovative food processing technologies, and aquaculture solutions.

The PRRI family congratulates both Evangeline and Xela on their achievements! Their success underscores the institute’s commitment to professional development and its dedication to supporting initiatives that empower individuals to drive positive change in the agricultural sector.
