The Philippine Rubber Research Institute (PRRI) was visited by Grade 12 STEM students from Curuan National High School on February 1, 2024, for an immersive scientific journey. Under the supervision of their research adviser, Ms. Leah Riza G. Angeles, the students conducted practical research, aiming to uncover the presence of Pestalotiopsis Leaf Fall Disease (PLFD) on infected rubber tree leaves.
These STEM students eagerly welcomed hands-on activities, enriching their understanding of scientific investigation. Their visit to the PRRI office and ZAMPEN Laboratory provided an engaging platform to translate theoretical knowledge into real-world applications.
Guided by Supervising Science Research Specialist, Mr. Meynard Abello, and Science Research Analyst, Ms. Ma. Nita Roldan and the students meticulously examined infected rubber tree leaves, immersing themselves in the intricacies of research methodology. Empowered by this exposure, the students emerged with a newfound passion for scientific exploration, fueling aspirations to become future leaders in the field.
PRRI welcomes all those eager to expand their knowledge, fostering a seamless integration of academia and industry. Through strong collaborations, PRRI remains committed to cultivating future scientific leaders and propelling agricultural research.
