On January 5, 2024, a significant event unfolded at PRRI as the Social Security System (SSS) paid a visit to conduct a comprehensive orientation for the organization’s staff. Led by the esteemed Executive Director, Cheryl L. Eusala, Ph.D, PRRI had its orientation on the importance of SSS membership for the benefit and security of every employee.

The initiation for the SSS Orientation was prompted by the Association of Philippine Rubber Institute Employees (APPRIE). As a result, the orientation session was successfully organized and conducted to provide valuable information and guidance to the participants.

The strong endorsement from Dr. Eusala underscored the commitment of PRRI to the welfare of its workforce. Recognizing the pivotal role that the SSS plays in providing financial stability and security, the Executive Director urged all staff members to avail themselves of the SSS services, most especially the Contract of Service (COS) employees.

The SSS, as a cornerstone of social protection in the Philippines, has continually strived to offer convenient and efficient means of transactions for its members, pensioners, covered employers, and the public. Driven by the ever-changing times, the SSS remains dedicated to adapting and evolving to meet the needs of its diverse clientele.

The orientation served as a platform to enlighten PRRI employees about the multitude of benefits and services offered by the SSS. These benefits include health and maternity benefits, sickness and disability benefits, retirement benefits, and death and funeral assistance. The session emphasized the role of SSS in safeguarding the financial well-being of individuals and families during various life stages.

One of the key takeaways from the orientation was the emphasis on how SSS contributes to the broader social security framework of the Philippines. It not only provides financial assistance to its members but also plays a crucial role in the economic development of the nation by ensuring a stable and secure workforce.

In the pursuit of convenient and efficient transactions, the SSS has embraced technological advancements. Members can now access their accounts, check contributions, and apply for benefits through online platforms. This move towards digitalization aligns with the organization’s commitment to keeping pace with the modern era and providing seamless services to its constituents.

The Philippine Rubber Research Institute (PRRI) organization anticipates the imminent signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Social Security System (SSS). The expected MOA signing signifies a significant milestone in the collaboration between PRRI and SSS, highlighting a mutual commitment to fostering cooperation, enhancing information exchange, and streamlining regulatory processes.

PRRI, under the visionary leadership of Dr. Cheryl L. Eusala, has recognized the symbiotic relationship between a well-informed, financially secure workforce and organizational success. By encouraging staff to enroll in the SSS, PRRI is not just complying with legal requirements but actively contributing to the overall welfare of its employees.
